To a certain extent however, this is untrue. Every 4 years, Americans witness a group of candidates take many stages across the country, activate wired smiles and deliver speeches in an attempt to convince millions of people that they will somehow better their lives. Sometimes they succeed and sometimes they don’t, but nevertheless, Americans put their trust and money in them (and their pockets), knowing that a lot of things will stay the same and that the system’s foundation is ultimately the root cause. They will still act as if things will get better through ‘democracy’. While failing to realize the temporality of this eagerness to push and pull for social reform and civil rights in the name of ‘modernity’ and ‘progression’. They have forgotten that, humans have in actuality always been the same and only ever needed the same things to be happy, or at least sustained, yet, they still forget. We still forget. And we also forget that every empire, people, and civilization to ever exist has always met its end and destruction. Sooner or later, but for now, we are invincible.
